Important limitations
Disclaimer
Ghost FTP is a file-transfer tool. You remain responsible for the servers, credentials, files and operational decisions involved in your use.
Effective 27 September 2026. This is a technically prepared production policy draft and should receive final legal review before it is relied on as jurisdiction-specific legal advice.
No guarantee of remote availability
Connections depend on remote servers, DNS, networks, firewalls, hosting providers, TLS/SSH configuration and local system components outside Ghost FTP’s control. A successful installation does not guarantee that a particular third-party server will accept a connection.
Backups and destructive actions
File deletion, overwrite, rename, synchronization and permission changes can be destructive. Keep independent backups and verify the target path before performing irreversible operations. Do not treat transfer history as a backup system.
Security decisions
Certificate warnings, changed SSH host keys and integrity failures should be investigated rather than bypassed. Ghost FTP may refuse an operation when required security evidence is unavailable or inconsistent.
Downloads and reputation systems
Checksums and first-party HTTPS delivery help verify file integrity, but antivirus and operating-system reputation systems make independent decisions. No representation is made that every legitimate unsigned executable will avoid a warning on every system.
Legal information
Policy pages describe the intended technical and operational behaviour of the service. They are not a substitute for advice from a qualified lawyer about your specific jurisdiction, regulatory duties, contracts or data-processing obligations.
Changes
Features, supported platforms, third-party compatibility and service endpoints may change over time. Material policy changes should be reflected on this site with an updated effective date.
